In case you didn’t know…
After winning three consecutive Champions League trophies among other notable accolades, Ronaldo moved to Juventus from Real Madrid last year. In his nine seasons with Los Blancos, he became the greatest goalscorer of the club with 450 goals.
Since his transfer to Turin, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has played a pivotal part for the Old lady in his debut season in Italy. He has racked up 28 goals in all competitions - 21 of them coming in the Serie A which helped the Bianconeri win their eight consecutive league title.
Ronaldo also netted all of Juventus’ goals in the knockout stages of the Champions League. Despite his best efforts, Juventus were knocked out by Ajax from the Quarter-final stage of the competition which renders European glory elusive to the Italian giants.
The heart of the matter
Juventus boss Max Allegri enjoyed Ronaldo’s relentless hunger and heaped praises on the Portuguese star, comparing him with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Speaking in an interview, Allegri said:
What’s next?
The season is virtually over for Juventus but they will want to finish the campaign in a positive note. The Old Lady will host Atalanta next in the Serie A.
