Sharing his views on the incident, Fabio Capello criticised the striker and implied that the substitution was a right choice and Ronaldo should have taken it sportingly.
In case you didn’t know…
Ronaldo was brought off in the 55th minute of the game for Paulo Dybala who went on to score the winner for the Bianconeri. Citing the reasons Sarri said, it was only because the player took a knock in training and has been uncomfortable ever since.
The heart of the matter
Things between Sarri and Ronaldo could be turning sour after the former substituted the striker yet again. The 34-year-old before heading down the tunnel gave his manager some piece of his mind.
Talking about the incident, Capello criticised the striker as he said:
The 73-year-old implied that Ronaldo should have taken the decision sportingly and shown some characteristics of a champion while coming off. Adding on, Capello said that Douglas Costa and Dybala can do things that the 34-year-old now is incapable of and that is why the change makes sense and if he were the manager he would have approached the striker for his actions.
What’s next?
It remains to be seen how Sarri handles the situation as Ronaldo is the face of Juventus and if he remains unhappy then there may be some troubles that await the Italian.
