The Feather Cap is one of the most unusual accessories in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion, primarily due to its strangely worded description. It can be a beneficial accessory for Zack to equip, but only if the player knows what its purpose is.

What The Feather Cap Does

Though the Feather Cap doesn’t grant Zack any immediate buffs, keeping it equipped is likely to reveal how it works. During combat, players will need to rely on the Digital Mind Wave if they hope to perform a Limit Break. To activate one of these superior attacks, the DMW must land on three of the same character pictures, which will then grant the player the chance to call upon a familiar face to deal out some pretty impressive damage.

The DMW can sometimes grant Zack double his maximum HP, MP, and AP. It’s easy not to notice these buffs being implemented, but players will quickly realize they have received them if they check their current stats. These enhancements can be extremely beneficial, especially during the first few chapters, but there is a way to improve how big the buff will be.

According to the accessory’s description, the Feather Cap “Increases parameter break by up to 3 times.” While this doesn’t directly explain what the Feather Cap does, it’s effective in conveying how powerful it can be when used correctly. If Zack equips the Feather Cap before entering a battle, he will be given the Triple Limits ability which will multiply his HP, MP, and AP by 3 during Limit Breaks.

While it isn’t the most necessary accessory in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion, it can certainly be one of the most overpowered during the earlier parts of the game. When the player eventually unlocks accessories they wish to replace it with, the Feather Cap can be added to the item slot in the Materia Fusion menu to further enhance the Materia the player wishes to create.

Where To Find The Feather Cap

There are two ways to obtain the Feather Cap in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy Reunion. The first available means of doing so is arguably much easier than the second and can be completed much earlier too. To obtain the first Feather Cap, the player must complete the M4-3-2: Obliterate Advance Elements mission. While the main reward for completing this quest is a System Shock accessory, the Feather Cap can be found resting inside one of the two chests found in the area.

The second Feather Cap can be found by beginning the M10-2-3: Master Tonberry and encountering the Magic Pot that roams the level. The Magic Pot will ask Zack to perform a series of moves, so the player should begin the mission with Assault Twister, Fira, Gravity, and Jump equipped if they wish to appease the unusual creature. The Magic Pot will reward Zack with another Feather Cap upon fulfilling each request.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.
