Since gil is how Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion players get helpful items and powerful accessories, obtaining more is just as important as spending time leveling up. Because gil is an important resource, players will want to go out of their way to get more. Here are some effective methods for farming gil along with how it is obtained.

How to Get Gil
While some games, like Final Fantasy XII, had different methods for acquiring gil, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion follows the traditional formula of obtaining gil from chests and monsters. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion players can also earn gil from the mini-game near the end of Chapter 2. Of course, this mini-game can only be done once, so it is not as reliable as the other methods.
Since chests do not respawn in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion, the best method for farming gil is by running optional side missions and repeatedly killing enemies as they spawn. While this can be done during story related missions, side quests are repeatable which makes them ideal for farming gil.
How to Farm Gil
Any mission that has lots of enemies is an ideal place to repeatedly trigger random encounters and then defeat the enemies that spawn. When fighting enemies, players should make sure to get as many kills as possible while avoiding taking any damage. The reason for this is that players earn more gil if they perform well in battle. It may not seem like much of an increase, but it adds up if players continuously do well.
Aside from battling enemies, another method is to use the Steal or Mug abilities that come from materia that provides access to powerful spells and abilities. These can allow players to steal items from enemies. Once players have these items, they can then sell them and get plenty of gil. In addition to that, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion players may also sell accessories that they don’t need to get some extra gil as well.
If players really want to maximize how much gil they obtain, there is an accessory that can be obtained later on in the game that doubles any gil earned. This item is called Precious Watch, and it can only be obtained after completing a long series of side missions that begin with Suspicious Mail 1 which involves a young Yuffie. Another accessory that can double gil earned is the Heike Soul, but that requires completing all missions in the game, including the mission to defeat the optional superboss, Minerva.
With that in mind, Heike Soul isn’t particularly useful for farming gil since it can’t be obtained until players have completed everything, but it will certainly be useful if players decide to use New Game Plus and go through the story again.
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion is available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
