In Chapter 5 of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion, Zack is approached by Tseng and asked to accompany him on his trip to Modeoheim. Before they reach their destination, however, the helicopter crashes into a snowy mountain, leaving Zack to make the rest of the journey on foot.

Finding The Modeo Bathhouse

Upon leaving the Mako Excavation Facility, Zack will need to travel through a cave in order to continue his journey. On the other side, he will find himself in the quaint town of Modeoheim, in which he must locate and explore the Modeo Bathhouse. The entrance to the bathhouse can be found at the bottom of the hill to the south and must be entered if Zack wishes to find Cloud and Tseng.

Inside, Zack will find a Boiler Handle located in the debris to his left. At first, picking it up may seem impossible, but it isn’t so long as the player interacts with it from a certain angle. Continuing forward, Zack must enter through the doorway under the sign that reads “Modeo Bathhouse,” wherein he will be faced with a few enemies and a puzzle.

Cooling The Water Down

Upon defeating the A-Griffon, Zack can approach the pool directly behind him. Sadly, the pool is full of boiling water, so Zack needs to find a way to lower the water’s temperature before he can approach the chest in the center. The Boiler Handle he collected in the previous room is required to do so, but Zack will need to progress a bit further if he wishes to find where to use it.

After finding Cloud and Tseng on the upper floor, Zack must continue progressing forward until he reaches the Boiler Room. Descending the stairs and turning right, players will notice an orange glowing orb inside a damaged machine. The steam coming from the machine, however, is much too hot for Zack to reach in and take it, but it can be cooled if Zack travels up the stairs at the north side of the room.

There, he will be faced with a machine with an empty slot that conveniently suits the shape of the Boiler Handle. Interacting with the machine will cause Zack to insert the Boiler Handle and turn it, removing the steam from the machine in the same room, while also lowering the water’s temperature in the previous room.

From here, Zack should backtrack to the orange glowing orb and interact with it, rewarding him with a Lightning Armlet. Then, he should backtrack to the area with Cloud and Tseng, descend the stairway, enter the pool, and open the previously inaccessible chest. Doing so will reward him with a Dispel Magic Materia, one of the best Materia in all of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion.
