Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion is home to some seriously charming side quests; the side quests involving Aerith are usually the most enjoyable. Zack first meets Aerith in Chapter 4, when he falls through the roof of the Sector 5 Slums - Church. Though it isn’t required to complete the story, Zack can take part in a short side quest named Good Match for Aerith to prove himself to her.

Meet Aerith

Upon completing Chapter 3, Zack will crash through the Church in the Sector 5 Slums, where he will be awakened by Aerith. To thank Aerith for her help, Zack asks her to go on a date with him, and though she doesn’t directly accept the offer, the pair ends up spending most of the day together.

Greet The Shop Owners

After reaching the Sector 5 Slums - Market, Zack will be given the chance to browse the shops around the area. The first step in completing the Good Match for Aerith is for Zack to interact with the three shopkeepers at the market. Once each shopkeeper has been interacted with, Zack can move on.

Wait For The Child To Return

Next to the northern exit, Zack can come across a young girl standing alone. When interacted with, this child will run away in search of Bruno, the young boy who stole Zack’s wallet. Though it might seem a bit unnecessary, the player should select the “Wait a little longer” option ten times. Eventually, Aerith will return to aid Zack in his search.

Trade With The Boy

Next, Zack must return to the southern entrance and approach the boy to the east. In exchange for information on Bruno, the young boy asks Zack to give him a Potion. Sadly, the boy doesn’t seem to have any intention of telling Zack where Bruno is, but he will continue to ask for Potions all the same. After giving the boy five potions, Zack will refuse to give anymore, permitting the player to move on.

Speak With Aerith

The next part of the side quest requires Zack to speak with Aerith. The pair eventually decides to work together to find Bruno, which proves to be a great idea when they find him running around the Market. Bruno will then reveal that he stole Zack’s wallet, so he could buy some medicine. The player will then be allowed to choose Zack’s response, and they should choose the “I’ll buy the medicine for you” option if they hope to complete the Good Match for Aerith side quest.

Zack must then defeat the monsters roaming the Sector 5 Slums - Street in order to find Bruno’s missing wallet. Once the battle is over, Zack will return the missing wallet to Bruno, which will then permit him to take part in a few extra side quests around the Market.

The Number-Guessing Game

Once Bruno’s wallet has been given back, Zack should approach the young boy by the entrance. Instead of asking for Potions, he will ask Zack to take part in an interesting minigame. To win, Zack must correctly guess how many children are about to pass by. While the player can brute force their way to the answer, the most reliable way to emerge victorious is to ask Aerith and the boy for their thoughts on the matter. The answer will be whatever number both Aerith and the boy suggest.

Collect Materia

Just across from where the boy is standing, Zack can approach the Attendant standing outside the Item World shop, who will ask for help in collecting Magic Materia. After accepting the man’s request, Zack will need to run around the Market while collecting the twenty loose pieces of Materia spread throughout. Collecting them all and returning them to the owner within fourteen seconds will award Zack with the highest score, while also completing another part of the Good Match for Aerith side quest.

Blend Perfume

The Perfume blending minigame is arguably the most difficult minigame players must complete if they hope to complete the Good Match for Aerith side quest. To initiate it, Zack must approach the shopkeeper of the Shopping Paradise stall to the west of the Market. After agreeing to purchase perfume, he will be asked to blend it. To create the perfect fragrance, the player must count the drips they hear.

The amount of oil needed will vary depending on the perfume, so players will need to complete this minigame mostly on their own. To achieve the best outcome, the perfect perfume must be blended three times in a row. If the incorrect blend is created, players will need to reload a previous save to try again.

Complete The Chapter

To complete the Great Match for Aerith side quest, players must continue playing through the Chapter 5 story. After purchasing a pink ribbon for Aerith, they will be given the option to go to the Sector 6 Slums - Park. Choosing “Let’s go right now!” will continue the story.

After a brief cutscene in which Zack and Aerith get to know each other a little more, Zack will be summoned back to the Shinra Building. To get back there, he must travel to the Sector 5 Slums - Market and continue through the northern exit. Before he gets the chance to leave, however, Bruno will appear and thank Zack for all his help by giving him a Steal Materia.

Then, he will inform Zack that both he and Aerith “make a good couple.” After a short conversation, the Good Match for Aerith side quest will end, and the Good Match for Aerith trophy will be unlocked.
