Hell is Others is an online multiplayer, survival horror, top-down shooter with an infusion of David Lynch-vibes, as players take on the role of Adam Smithson. Accompanied by the sounds of his gramophone that replays the same songs, Adam does his best to stay at home and take care of his plants as he fears leaving his apartment. One day, Adam awakes to discover that a new plant has been added to his collection, a bonsai tree that feeds on blood forcing him to leave his house in search of answers. The development team has dropped a new trailer showing off snippets of gameplay revealing the game’s release on October 20 and a closed beta set for September 2.

Hell is Others’ release date trailer showcases more of the game’s unique art style and gameplay direction. The pixilated streets of Century City are full of danger with dark creatures traveling the streets that will try to end Adam’s night. The gameplay will look to blend fast-paced and frantic top-down action as players will have access to a variety of weapons to fend off the creatures of the night when Hell is Others releases later this year.
Aside from the trailer, Strelka Games & Yonder have gone on to explain what exactly players can expect when playing Hell is Others. The game will feature a PvPvE environment with a hybrid of customization mechanics and extraction-based gameplay similar to Escape from Tarkov. Players will fight for their lives in order to collect blood that allows them to grow resources such as ammunition with one false move spelling death at the hands of The Others. Fans who are curious to see more about the game can sign up for the closed beta through the game’s Steam page which kicks off in September.
Strelka Games & Yonder’s Hell is Others is shaping up to be a promising spin on the top-down genre, and after having been in the works for quite some time, the launch is rapidly approaching.
Hell is Others is scheduled to release October 20, 2022 for PC.
