One of the most dangerous mobs is the Warden. This enemy was added in Minecraft through The Wild Update, which was released earlier this year. Though the creature is blind, it will appear if alerted by sculk shriekers and will attack anything that makes noise around them. They are considered to be some of the strongest enemies in the game, possessing a large health pool and powerful attacks. Despite being so dangerous, one player found a way to imprison Wardens by creating a complex containment cell.

A Redditor known as average-ish-ness shared a small clip showing off their Warden containment cell in Minecraft. The clip starts by showing the player opening a door and walking down a long corridor. After activating a switch, a wall opens and reveals a massive cell. In the middle of the cell stands the Warden, which is placed on a lone magma block surrounded by note blocks that keep it distracted. The cell is impressive, and shows that a lot of hard work and ingenuity was required in order to be built.
The video showing average-ish-ness’ imprisonment cell for Minecraft’s Warden has received a lot of love and stands at over 22,000 upvotes. Many users make references to the SCP Foundation, stating that the containment cell reminds them of something from the fictional organization’s lore. A number of Redditors state that the prison is cool, with one mentioning that it reminds them of the Strangers Things series. Fans joke that average-ish-ness is now the warden of the Warden, though they did caution that the creature may escape someday.
The cell that average-ish-ness built shows how terrifying the Warden can be through the amount of measures they had to implement in order to contain it, but a Minecraft fan’s short animation also shows how scary the mob can be. A Redditor going by the name Flameburnt1234 created an animation showing Minecraft’s Steve avoiding the Warden. The clip starts with Steve hiding behind a wall with a torch as the Warden walks by. The animation then shows Steve in complete darkness, which leads to him lighting another torch. The video then shows the Warden slowly appear behind him and fades to black. Steve likely suffered the same fate as many others who have encountered the Warden, which often leads to a game over screen.
Minecraft is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
